About S.N.A.C.

About Us

The purpose of this virtual hub is to provide a public, comprehensive and centralized web-based ‘virtual hub’ that will help families navigate their child’s journey and more efficiently access resources and community-based programs and services. Our goal is that this system will improve the efficiency and effectiveness of information and referrals within Palm Beach County. The Unicorn Children’s Foundation, in collaboration, with 211 Palm Beach/Treasure Coast and the Special Needs Advisory Coalition of Palm Beach County stakeholders created this site to connect families affected by neurodiversity with programs and services in Palm Beach County to assist them on their journey at every age and stage. 211 Palm Beach/Treasure Coast is the community helpline and crisis hotline and one of the most frequent types of calls they receive are requests for services from community providers.

Specialneedspbc.info is bridging this gap to help citizens find what they need more quickly and efficiently. The site will include relevant age-related information, screeners, and access to a directory of providers to address specific issues or concerns. It will also act as a community calendar to direct interested parties to training events and social/recreational opportunities in the County. Www.specialneedspbc.info takes a tremendous step forward in providing more integrated information, resources, and services for our community’s members with special needs/disabilities.

Special Needs Advisory Coalition of Palm Beach County (SNAC PBC)

Founded in 2015, SNAC PBC is a regular convening of representatives from the public and private sector who have an interest in special needs services and supports to encourage cooperation, collaboration, and coordination of efforts to create a comprehensive continuum of care. Since the group’s initial Community Needs Assessment, the coalition has grown to over 500 members representing more than 160 organizations who meet monthly to share current best practices, observations, and needs. Finally, as the findings of the original Community Needs Assessment on Special Needs in Palm Beach County surpasses the five-year mark, SNAC PBC is also looking forward to a follow-up assessment to benchmark progress towards established goals and identify new developments and needs.

211 Palm Beach / Treasure Coast

The mission of 211 Palm Beach/Treasure Coast is to connect people to services 24 hours a day by understanding their individual emotional, financial, and community needs and to support the health & human service system as a whole. 211 Palm Beach/Treasure Coast envisions a community where people in crisis receive the information and support they need to weather life’s storms.
